What are the selection metrics for The Foundation Council?

The Foundation Council judges a startup on the basis of business model and the team which means that you not only have to have a high-growth, sustainable business idea but also a team of passionate and committed co-founders.

What are the different kinds of programs that you offer?

Startups who apply at The Foundation can choose from:

  1. Incubation(5% equity)
  2. Acceleration (2.5% equity)

I am not a part of NIC but can I join a mentoring session?

Mentor sessions are exclusive to our incubated startups, however, we do hold public sessions every once in a while and they are open to everyone. If you wish to get updates on such sessions, please subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media

Can students apply for the incubation program?

Yes, students can apply, provided they are ready to commit full time to their venture and to NIC and does not have schedules of their classes clashing with the program. However, we encourage that you apply after you have graduated as it shows full-time commitment.

I would like to know about the investment opportunities for Pakistani startups as an investor.

If you are interested in becoming an investor, you will have to share your investment thesis and appropriate deal flows will be directed towards you accordingly; by that we mean, the sector focus, deal size, regional focus, or any other criteria to evaluate an appropriate deal for the investor. What are the conditions and basic requirements for my idea to get selected in National Incubation Center, Lahore?

For your idea to get selected at the incubator/accelerator of National Incubation Center, Quetta, it needs to be high-growth, high-impact and sustainable. Moreover, the startup should be led by a team of passionate, committed entrepreneurs who should be willing to be based in Quetta for the four months of the incubation program

What is a scouting season? How does it work?

The Foundation business incubator and accelerator at National Incubation Center, Quetta hosts two batches of startups a years, namely Summer and Winter. For each batch, NIC scouts visit various universities and nationwide business competitions and events to identify promising, high-growth startups to bring them together on a competitive platform. The founders are then invited to meet with NIC’s Foundation Council at its next meeting.

What is The Foundation Council?

The Foundation Council is a group of successful entrepreneurs, leading businesspersons and professionals of Pakistan. The council members work together with the management of NIC to scrutinize startups for admission into The Foundation; review their progress throughout the incubation period and provide guidance and advice to the founders.

You can be a part of National Incubation Center, Quetta if you have a high-growth/high-impact business idea and are looking for incubation. You can submit your business idea to us through our online application.

Is there a fee for the incubation/acceleration program?

There is no fee for the incubation/acceleration program, however, National Incubation Center, Quetta has an equity in your business depending on the type of program you choose.

What is The Foundation?

The Foundation is a 4-month long, intense, business incubation and acceleration program offered at the National Incubation Center, Quetta to the most promising startups scouted from all across Pakistan and scrutinized by the Foundation Council. Only the best startups led by passionate founders pursuing a sustainable, high-growth or high-impact venture make it to the program.

What is the process of induction into the incubation/acceleration program in National Incubation Center, Quetta?

Startups are required to submit their business idea through our online application. Once submitted, the applications are vetted, short interviews are conducted and the shortlisted ones are forwarded to the last step, where these startups are required to pitch their idea in front of The Foundation Council.
