The National Incubation Center Quetta is a first of its kind Incubation & Acceleration platform, launched under the public – private partnership of Ministry if Information Technology & Telecom, IGNITE, Lahore University of Management (LUMS) and Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS).

The Beginning of an Innovation
2018
NIC Quetta introduced the first formal startup ecosystem in Balochistan, where entrepreneurs once lacked mentorship, funding, and workspace. Backed by Ignite and LMKT, it has become the region’s leading hub for innovation and collaboration.
Growth, Impact, and Recognition
2022 – Present
NIC Quetta has helped emerging startups generate employment and attract investment across the region. Through grants, expert mentorship, and access to investors, the center continues to strengthen and expand Balochistan’s growing innovation ecosystem.
Building Startups and Talent
2019-2021
NIC Quetta launched incubation programs providing mentorship, training, co-working spaces, and labs. Startups received support in product development, marketing, and strategy, while women-led and early-stage ventures gained valuable opportunities to grow and scale.
Transforming the Startup Ecosystem in Balochistan
Since its establishment in 2018, NIC Quetta has been instrumental in transforming the startup landscape of Balochistan. Before its inception, the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem was fragmented, underserved, and largely unnoticed. By bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs, mentors, industry experts, and innovation partners, NIC Quetta has become a central hub for business development and digital innovation in the province.

Muhammad Shah Khan is the Founding Director of the National Incubation Center (NIC) Quetta and a visionary leader in entrepreneurship and enterprise development. With extensive experience in project management, fundraising, and innovation-led ecosystem building, he has been instrumental in driving transformative initiatives that empower startups and strengthen Pakistan’s entrepreneurial landscape.
